Want to find and delete all those duplicate files on your computer?
TPD Duplicate File Finder is the most accurate duplicate file finder on the Internet. Quickly and easily search your computer for duplicate files with this easy to use, wizard based interface.
TPD Duplicate File Finder is a byte for byte scanner, this means that when it compares each file it compares them at the 1's and 0's level. So when you scan your computer you can be assured that the files it finds are exact duplicates of each other.

TPD Duplicate File Finder Release Notes7/25/2010 I've changed the look and feel of duplicate file finder so that it is more straight forward. I've also moved it to the new registration method. 11/15/2009 Duplicate File Finder has been updated to version 1.1.4 and includes that ability to specify custom file types for search. I've also fixed a bug that occurs when running on Windows Vista and Windows 7 where search would stop scanning and just hang. I've also added some extra checks for missing information before scan starts. 11/26/2008 I've updated the Duplicate File Finder today. You can now export your search results to Microsoft Excel, print those results and I've also changed the way the results are displayed. 12/10/2007 That's right! Over 1 million duplicate files have been detected with out Duplicate File Finder program. Thanks to all who love it and use it. 11/11/2007 I added the ability to perform a search based on file names. So now you have two ways to search your computer for duplicate files, Name search and Byte Search. I also improved the search algorithm so you should now have better results when performing either search. Also, I added the abiltiy for the program to automatically check for updates when you start it up. This can, of course, be turned off if you do not want this feature. Make sure to check the feature comparison chart for more details. 9/27/2007 A user emailed an error to us that prevented a file from being deleted because it was in use. I applied a patch to fix this issue and a new version is available. Version 1.0.3. 8/12/2007 We have a new product for release today. Duplicate File Finder will allow you to find duplicate files on your computer by scanning them at the byte level. The you can back them up to CD or delete them. Give it a try, we have a free version. You'll be amazed at how many duplicates you really do have.

Duplicate File Finder Lite is an easy-to-use program that allows users to locate and delete duplicate files on their computers. It's a pretty intuitive program, but don't expect guidance on whether or not it's safe to delete duplicate files.
The program's interface is very straightforward, with each step of the process arranged in its own tab. Users first select whether they want to search by file name or bytes, then select a location to search and the types of files they want to search for. The program scans the selected location and provides a list of duplicates. The full version of the program allows users to check the files they want to delete and delete them all with the click of a button, which is nice. We found the program to be very simple and had few problems with it. If we have any complaint about this program, it would be its lack of a Help file. Although the program is easy to use, just because you can delete something doesn't mean you should. We always like to see some guidance from these sort of programs, or at least a warning letting users know that they should proceed with caution. It may seem like common sense, but we'd bet that for a lot of folks, it's not.
Duplicate File Finder Lite is free to try, but the trial version allows users to search for only four types of files, and does not allow users to delete files. It installs desktop icons without asking but uninstalls cleanly. We recommend this program to all users.
